Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is therapy?

Therapy is a safe, judgement free place for people to express themselves, their concerns and their goals openly. Therapy is done with a licensed mental health professional to support and help with your needs.

  • What is HIPAA?

HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) is a federal law that protects sensitive patient health information from being disclosed without the patient's consent or knowledge. In therapy, however, there are some exceptions where your information may need to be disclosed. These exceptions include (1) harm to yourself; (2) harm to others; and (3) reports of child abuse. If any of this information is shared in therapy, your therapist is required by law to report this information to the appropriate channels.
